*brushes two months worth of dust off of journal*

I'm really bad at keeping this thing up to date, aren't I? Well, not much happened during the summer, so no loss there. But now...

I'M IN UNIVERSITY!

Cold, snowy Ottawa has been left behind, and now I'm in wet, rainy British Columbia studying Arts at U.B.C. Might be majoring in psych, but it's still pretty up in the air at this point. I'm living in res, and am only about 10 minutes away from a nude beach. The views of the ocean are great; the naked fifty-year-olds, less so >.<

Unfortunately, I had to leave my pets back in Ottawa, and I'm going through serious pet-withdrawal. I need something to lavish love and affection on, but the only animals we're allowed to keep in res are fish. And fish tend to be pretty delicate and finicky about their tanks; if the temperature, Ph, salinity, oxygen levels, and I-don't-know-what-else aren't exactly right, they go belly up in protest. (and then they go to 's jesus snail .) Thus no fish. And given that I'm not *quite* creepy enough to keep a pet spider, that leaves me with only one option: plants.

And thus I am now the proud owner of a cute, cuddly, new venus flytrap. Pictures will be forth coming. I'm thinking of naming it Billy.

And I'm learning to fence. Because who hasn't wanted to poke someone in the ribs with a glorified toothpick?
